Support the USO Phone Card Program and Get Free Stuff!

As we move into the final days before RE BarCamp Orlando, final preparations are being made to make it an amazing event.  Many many hours have gone into the setting of the stage and it could not have run more smoothly… a big Thank You to Florida Realtors and the other sponsors for making this possible. This event is FREE, but each BarCamp typically has a charity, and the Orlando event is no different. This year, we chose to help with a project that deserves much more attention than it is getting, the USO Phone Card Drive.

Imagine this.. your third trip to Iraq, Afghanistan, another 6 month tour of duty, and the only way you can call home and hear the voice of your loved ones is by mandatory use of phone cards. No cell phones allowed where these soldiers are, no public phones most of the time, and certainly no internet. When I think  of how much time I spend on my phone during the course of the day, talking to friends, family, etc. and then think of how precious a 10 minute phone call to a family that has gathered together just to hear their son, father, grandfather or mother from across the world, I get a little teary. We want to help, we want to make sure every soldier has that 10 minutes wherever they are, whenever they get that chance. The USO phone cards will make difference in those that are fighting for us and those that wait to hear their phones ring. Help us, pay it forward… bring your donation to REBarCamp Orlando.

During one of our planning pow-wow’s, I was recently having a conversation, with one of our committee members, Chris Brown – CMPS ®, and

he dropped a bomb on me…

and the attendees are going to be the benefactors for sure.

Chris Brown has offered to donate 200 copies of his new book, 31 Powerful Sales Strategies for Orlando, Florida Real Estate Agents to anyone that makes a donation of ANY AMOUNT!

While donations of $10-15 are appreciated, you can donate $1 and get a complimentary copy of this ‘must-read’ book.

Be sure not to miss Chris’s end-of-day presentation at REBarCamp,

“How to Make 160% of your Income in 96 minutes a day.”

Step up to the plate, friends, and show your support for those that make our freedoms possible – those in uniform!  Thank you, Chris, for your support of real estate agent’s businesses and the USO Phone Card Program.

Mindy Wilson of Florida Realtors and YPN shares some thoughts…

August 15, 2010 by Chris Brown

Thanks Mindy Wilson, Florida Realtors/NAR Activities Coordinator, for putting this little blurb together about YPN and REBarCamp!

REALTORS®…this is your time.

This is Your Time.

Hearing incoming NAR President Ron Phipps deliver this message at the NAR Leadership Summit in Chicago was awe-inspiring. Even more stirring, he delivered his speech not only to today’s leaders of the REALTOR family, he spoke directly to tomorrow’s leaders, Young Professional REALTORS®.

Curious how a bunch of 40 and under REALTORS® were sitting in a room with the incoming Presidents/Chairs from Local and State Boards/Associations across the nation? Good question. We were invited.

Young Professional Network (YPN) Chairs and Liaisons came in droves to Chicago last week for the first annual YPN Leadership retreat. This unprecedented retreat brought Young Professionals to the table to hear the message communicated to our current REALTOR® leaders preparing to take their position at the helm.

YPNers were called upon not only to share in the message, but create our own. The retreat was an opportunity to learn, share and listen to our peers to help build a stronger network locally and nationally. The energy and enthusiasm was infectious. The stimulated discussions gave way to a free-flow of “tried-and-true” implementable items to take home to our respective YPN chapters. Not to mention, the relationship building, hello referral networks.

If given a similar opportunity to put yourself in a room with like-minded professionals, recognized leaders of communities, young professionals, and seasoned veterans looking to share their acquired know-how and seek your input, would you take it?

Here’s your way in: RE BarCamp Orlando. The best and the brightest in this industry have realized that Barcamps bottle that energy and bring it major metropolitan areas. Now there’s one coming to a city near you. Tap into this wellspring of knowledge and become a part of a vast and growing network.

REALTORS®, This is Your Time. You’re invited, it’s free to attend. All that’s asked of you is to register and get yourself in the room.

Oh but wait, There’s More! Florida Realtors YPN is hosting the Statewide Florida Chapter Kickoff @ 7:00pm on Wednesday following BarCamp. Florida Realtors President Wendell Davis and your 2010 Leadership Team joined by members of NAR’s YPN Advisory Council (these are your current and future leaders of the association!) will be attending in support of YPN. If you like what you hear, learn more www.floridarealtors.org/ypn.

There it is gang – the future of Real Estate is here and growing – only those that recognize it will thrive in the years to come.

Don’t forget about the great article in the blogroll too from Chris Griffith, “Why YOU Need to be at RE BarCamp Orlando

Here’s a link to the answers to the following great questions….: “Q and A for REBCORL Attendees

  1. I am not sure I have anything to Share
  2. Is this only for Realtors, or can personal assistants and association staffers attend, too? Would a non-Realtor get anything out of an REBar camp?
  3. Is REBar camp a 30-something thing? I’m a 50-something hard-working Realtor who uses some social media and technology, but do I fit in? Will I understand the lingo?
  4. What is the whiteboard thing? When do people sign up to present, and how do I know what sessions will be the best fit for me?
  5. I like immediate results. Give me a bottom line example of what I can learn at REBar camp that will immediately increase my bottom line.
  6. How can I continue to network with all these wonderful and talented people I meet at REBar camp?
  7. What’s the dress code?
