Imagine this.. your third trip to Iraq, Afghanistan, another 6 month tour of duty, and the only way you can call home and hear the voice of your loved ones is by mandatory use of phone cards. No cell phones allowed where these soldiers are, no public phones most of the time, and certainly no internet. When I think  of how much time I spend on my phone during the course of the day, talking to friends, family, etc. and then think of how precious a 10 minute phone call to a family that has gathered together just to hear their son, father, grandfather or mother from across the world, I get a little teary. Hearing incoming NAR President Ron Phipps deliver this message at the NAR Leadership Summit in Chicago was awe-inspiring. Even more stirring, he delivered his speech not only to today’s leaders of the REALTOR family, he spoke directly to tomorrow’s leaders, Young Professional REALTORS®.

Young Professional Network (YPN) Chairs and Liaisons came in droves to Chicago last week for the first annual YPN Leadership retreat. This unprecedented retreat brought Young Professionals to the table to hear the message communicated to our current REALTOR® leaders preparing to take their position at the helm.
